Ensemble(TM) MIT-203 RapidIO® DSP/FPGA WiMAX AdvancedMC(TM) Card. Mercury Computer Systems, Chelmsford, MA, USA

Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. was founded in 1981 and is the leading provider of computing systems and software for data-intensive applications that include image processing, signal processing, and visualization.

Currently Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. has developed the Ensemble(TM) MTI-203 RapidIO® DSP/FPGA WiMAX AdvancedMC(TM) Card which implements a complete WiMAX (worldwide interoperability for microwave access) sector on a single AdvancedMC(TM) module. With three TCI6-482 DSPs and a supporting Xilinx® FPGA node, the MIT-203 AMC is an ideal solution for developing and deploying WiMAX, next-generation video, or base-station applications. The module enables all the physical layer (PHY) baseband processing required for a 20-MHz, TDD (time division duplex), multi-antenna solution with Smart Antenna MIMO (multiple input/output) enabled. As a baseband development platform, the MTI-203 is designed to support advanced features such as Smart Antenna and MIMO transmission across a variety of air interfaces.

HARTING'S har-link® connector system proved to be a perfect FPGA (field programmable gate array) LVDS (Low Voltage Differential System) connector for this AdvancedMC(TM) Card. The design of this front I/O allows differential pairs to be placed horizontally, resulting in improved signal integrity characteristics over alternative vertical arrangements. This arrangement reduces skew at high frequencies. Combines with high-density stacking ability, the high degree of shielding and high speed capabilities make HARTING'S har-link® connector system an ideal solution for many high speed LVDS applications.
